[newbie] Why MPEGs are so slow??

Hello!

I tried to use aKtion to play my MPEG files, and the speed of playback is
~1fps. What is the reason of it?

System: PIII-500, ASUS V3800TVR nVidia based card, XFree 3.3.6

Any suggestions?
