Yes and that process is netscape.

[root@shugaru sheldonl]# cat /usr/bin/netscape | grep ld-linux
                            exec
/usr/$sysname-glibc20-linux/lib/ld-linux.so.2 \
                            exec
/usr/$sysname-glibc20-linux/lib/ld-linux.so.2 \
                            exec
/usr/$sysname-glibc20-linux/lib/ld-linux.so.2 \
                            exec
/usr/$sysname-glibc20-linux/lib/ld-linux.so.2 \
           exec /usr/$sysname-glibc20-linux/lib/ld-linux.so.2

Eh, your point? (and ld-linux.so.2 is still not a part of Netscape...)

Practically every other application does this. The vast majority do so
without tying up the CPU...

Interestingly enough, I USED to have similar problems with Netscape doing
the same thing. I stress the past tense... other programs would also exhibit
similar behavior.

I'll bet that Netscape tendency to do this is highly dependant upon the
version of the ld-linux/glibc libraries it is compiled against.

My Redhat 6.0 box did this constantly until I updated both Netscape and the
Libs.
Now it's one of 5 upgraded to Mandrake 7.02...

My Mandrake 7.02 boxes have not done this once... yes I might get the
OCCASIONAL Netscape crash, but I have not had a runaway process since
performing a clean install of 7.02.
