Edison....I believe you meant to address Andrew, not me.
Anyway, KDE has one thing called a Panel and it's not what you
are calling a panel (window or applet is a better choice in
that instance I believe). Anyway the Panel is the big bar
that sits at the bottom of the screen (by default) and has the
Kmenu icon on the far left and the clock/date display on the
far right (and other buttons & icons in between).
