Hi All,

May I know the command to find out about
the disk space information? For example
how much space is used/empty in a particular
partition. Or is there a GUI component for this
sort of thing.

Interesting note: Yesterday I experienced my first
Linux 'crash'. As my linux login screen (the graphical
one) was starting up, I moved my mouse around the screen
rapidly (out of impatience) and guess what - the whole
screen froze! I couldn't get any response from my mouse
nor my keyboard. So out of helplessness, I pressed the
dreaded 'reset' button :(. Argh, deva vu of my Windows
days...I hope I won't get many of these. (BTW, I know
that Linux might had been alive and well, but with my
mouse and keyboard gone, what else can I do?)

Anyway, despite the above 'hic up', I am begining
to appreciate Linux. I have been using it exclusively
for 2 weeks now on my home PC. Other than the occational
urge to play Windows games, I find that Linux is a
perfectly adequate (if not more) Desktop OS.

Can someone recommend me a site that lists
Linux software in categories? Preferably something
like palmgear.com, where they have 'essentials', 'our pick',
'top download' etc. I think such sites will help
newbie like me get to know what software is popular
for Linux.

Can't wait to get my hands on Mandrake 7.1 :).

Cheers,
Viboon
