 'old money' refers to the strange british mix of imperial and metric
measurments used at the same time, before decimalisation we had 240
pence to the pound and people use the phrase 'old money ' to refer to
the fact that they are using older measurements whether financial or
otherwise, it's a sort of old fogey affectation that i drop into
sometimes when my ire's up.
