That is pretty strange... have you tried the expert list?  It would seem
that you aren't unmounting the drive, but if that's not the case then
I'm not sure what it would be. If it's been removed from the bios, that
would seem to be a loose connection or a bad drive.  Have you checked to
make sure that all your wires are connected correctly?  Could you
possibly need a bios update?  Are you dual booting your machine?  If so,
what's the drive look like under the other OS?  Maybe try a different
drive in there (if you have a spare on hand).
