I'm working on this problem also. Thanks to this list, I have keyboard
switching working in KDE, but I haven't figured out how to do it in text
mode yet.
In KDE, start KDE Control Center, then select Input Devices/
International Keyboards, if needed add the languages you need. Then
highlight one of the languages, and setup your Switch keys. Now select
the Startup tab, and make sure Autostart, and Docked are selected. (I
don't know why, this is what I was told to do.) Repeat the process for
the other languages. Select Ok, and your done.
If your interested in doing this in text mode I'd be happy to
collaborate with you. I've spent some time investigating it, and if I
new more about decyphering script files, I think I would be close to the
solution.
