I know that Charles, but I was describing Windoze behavior
in W95 beta. The statement that windoze is prob'ly the worst OS
at managing hard and virtual memory is valid. My implication that
while Windoze is good at running on marginal hardware, this is also
one of the reasons it crashes so much, is also valid. IMO, the
reason Windoze will recognize all installed ram when many other
OS's won't is so that the average Dell user with a lot of 'onboard'
and/or 'win' hardware won't realize he/she doesn't really have as
much system ram available as is 'advertised'.
BUT you're right, I should'a left my opinions out of it ;->
What I failed to remind Tor of, is to run '/sbin/lilo' (as root)
after making the changes to lilo.conf, so that they'd be written to
lilo and take affect on the next boot.
