I don't know if this is still relating or not, but I have that same modem. I
was using Mandrake 6.0 until recently and the way that I got mine to work
without having to get the card out and make changes was to edit the
"hosts.allow & hosts.deny" along with setting the BIOS with "NO" PNP OS
Installed.
Then, I added this command that helped myself since I have the modem set
with the v.90 update: AT&F&C1D2S202=32X3S6=4M0
This will let you dial-out without having to wait for a dial-tone, which I
was having a problem with on my if I turned off the speaker! If there's
