i suspect that with the coming of koffice in kde2, kde will 
become the standard for businesses using linux...though 
others will be popular with various individuals, the 
maturity of kde and its melding with koffice give it a 
tremendous advantage over its competitors...as MS has 
shown, once a product reaches "standard" status, dislodging 
that product becomes very difficult...
