Today I decided to take on the task of getting my pcmcia network adapter
to work in my laptop. I am trying to create a home network here with my
desktop and laptop, both running Linux-Mandrake 7.0. Both systems are dual
boot and are already networked in Windows. I have a problem though when I
try to get my pcmcia adapter to work in Linux. I hae been able to get the
pcmcia stuff working alright (it was setup properly during install) But my
card (3com) isn't being recognized correctly as far as I can tell. The
light on the card comes on, and it will show up when I do an 'ifconfig' as
my 'eth0' adapter, but after I try to ping my desktop, it tells me: 'sentto:
Network is unreachable' Any thoughts on this? Is there something else I
need to do to set up my card? Thanks in advance -
