Your box is expecting "~~~" and is only getting "~". Changing the expect
string to "~" may work for you, it didn't for me. What I had to do, was
find a pattern in the garbage sent, and set my expect string to that. In
your case it looks like the pattern is "}4}", in my case it was "}9}".
