Dan,

I could not get MDK 7.0 installed. I did see some installation script
patches on the linux-mandrake.com web site. I was wondering if my IDE
configuration problem points to the way the hard drive is configured.
That is, two hard drives on separate buss lines. I'm glad that I wasn't
the only one experiencing this.
I still think the best way to isolate the problem is to strip down any
fancy configurations. Then, begin with a single drive, CD-ROM with Zip
drive(in my case), and proceed from there.

I will take notes. This may be easier to isolate the problem. I remember
a message pointing to a table. I have to check my older emails. When
Linux gets installed, I will add a step-by-step help file.

I have to admit, this has been an eye opening learning experience on
installation. Installations should be very transparent. And, we take
this for granted. I'll check up on the freezing business.

Cheers!

Roman
