This is my first time using Mandrake. I have a PC with two 3com 10/100 cards in it. It's hooked up to a LAN connected to a T1. Whenever I do an install of Mandrake (just Mandrake, nothing else on the PC) as a customized server install with no individual package selection it works fine. I load up netscape or any other network app and it's perfect and very fast. However, that doesn't add support for things like RPMdrake so I tried several times to re-install using individual package selection and invariably the networking never works. I can't figure out why it doesn't work. Clearly there is nothing wrong with my connection since it works if I don't add packages. My assumption is that one or more of the packages is somehow changing my settings, although I can't find anything to suggest an incorrect setting in the network setup. Any ideas?
