Yes, another modem problem. I have 7.1 up and running, but in the install I think I told it the wrong dev for internet connection. Anyway, now when I dial up the connection is immediately broken. Error log says: "date;time:pppd[1325]:By default the remote system is required to authenticate itself (because this system has a default route to the internet) but I couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to do so.(none of the available passwords would let it use an IP address." I am not sure what happened, but I don't know what file to go to to edit or even what to edit. A little help here! Thanks, Dennis
