Hello Bill, 

I do have a mandrake with kernel 2.2.15 on an AMD 550. :) its working 
fine. Though in this kernel the k7 processors are not yet supported. I 
was told that they will be supported from kernel 2.3. onwards. But I 
don't have that version yet. That is why in the processor types at the 
compliation of the kernel i have chosen Pentium Pro. And it works fine 
with that. Could you please send me some confirmation to this letter 
because I think that they do not arrive at the mailing-list.
