Well, you can download SB Live! drivers from www.creativehelp.com , unfortunately this did not work for me in Mandrake 7.1.
 
However, this is how I did get it running.   I installed Mandrake 7.1 normally and let it autodetect my soundcard.  It worked womewhat.... 
 
Then I ran "sndconfig"
 
I believe it's in /usr/sbin , if not, do a find / -name 'sndconfig'  and you should be able to locate it.
 
I recommend finding sndconfig and running that.  I haven't had any problems with my SB live since I ran it.
