I don't use knewmail myself, but it looks as if knewmail only -checks- if
there is new mail on the server. It will not download the mail for you.
When you use Pine or Mutt (these are Mail User Agents, only allow you
read/write mail), you need something like Sendmail, Postfix or Qmail (my
favorite), to actually -download- the mail to your machine.
Knewmail uses Kmail as default mail reader, which does have an option to
download mail for you. But Kmail is not Pine.
