[newbie] One Question One Problem

Hello All

Have a question: When the computer first boots it says something about
ide bus speed, assumes 33 MHz if this is not correct use idebus=xx.
where do I find this.

Now the problem: When I first typed xscanimage in the terminal window it
worked fine. I then installed Gimp. Now if I type xscanimage I get the
following   xscanimage: error in loading shared libraries: libgimp.so.1:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Help how do you fix this.
