Yep, the kernel is 2.4. It was supposed to be out last fall, but now it'll be
this fall when it's finally released in a stable form. You can already download
a beta version of it if you're feeling lucky from www.kernel.org, but if you
want an "official" release, then you'll have to wait a month or two.

improved in the 2.4 kernel.
