I really hate these os vs os things... Buuuuut....

Af far as generalizations go, I've found that windows users ar far "less
aware of their surroundings" shall we say than Mac users.
I deal with a few _really dumb_ people, at a School.... OK they are
teachers... in charge of America's youth.
And (of the dumb ones) the windows users seem to never learn anything
because it's never the same in two apps. Dumb Mac users OTOH tensd to be
able to take rudimentary knowledge from app to app and at least get by.
The Macs don't dumb down users, but they do enable a lower IQ type of idiot
to function. In general I can fix what a Mac Idiot does, but a windows idiot
almost always loses data. With mac support calls it's usually enough to say
'close the window' but I often have to tell windows people to 'click the x
on the right side of the blue bar above the line of text you just read me'
And here's a peeve of mine:
When I download the 600 mb iso cd image of Linux to a mac (or Linux), it
get's stored exactly where I tell it.
But in windows (nt4) if I tell it to save to the d: drive, it first saves it
to a temp file on C and then after the DL is complete, it takes another 5
full minuntes to copy it to d:. That's of course if I'm actually lucky
enough to have 600 megs of free space on C in the first place. Windows
sucks, and I fully believe that Linux is going to displace it in corporate
server farms, and when that happens the entire MS house of cards will come
tumbling down. And we'll all be running some unix variant... like OS X :)
