Keep in mind that KDE is more than a window manager (KWM), but a "Desktop
environment".  Gnome is NOT a windowmanager at all, but needs one like Sawfish
(the preferred wm du jour) or Enlightenment.  I use both a bit, but lately
have been making much use of Blackbox, w/o an additional Environment.
