Yep, my work dictates that I be Word-compatible.  In fact, Star Office
isn't quite up to that task, though it's pretty good.  Anyone here
have enough experience importing Word docs into Applixware to comment
on it?

What surprises me is that it doesn't understand Word Perfect format.

Command syntax is easy to find.  Understanding why you need to use it,
or even to understand the potentials is harder to pick up.  I found
the Mandrake book to be the best "basic" book I've seen but most
people seem to be grabbing these disks without buying a distribution
so it's not going to help them much.  I've got to check out the "Linux
for Dummies" book and see how it approaches the teaching of Linux.
