Stephen: I've checked my BIOS and agree that there doesn't seem to be a way to disable PNP on the Compaqs. Only have one possibility to offer you at the present, and there is certainly no guarantee it will work! * Try a call to Compaq Tech Support and ask the Tech who answers how to do what you want.
