hey,

I have been beating my head up against the was trying to get my cdr to
work with mandrake 7.1.

I have tried letting mandrake set it up and it does everything except
remove dev/cdrom and replace it with dev/scd0 so i do that and run

cdrecord -scan bus with the following results:

Cdrecord 1.8.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2000 Jrg
Schilling
Using libscg version 'schily-0.1'
scsibus0:
        0,0,0 0) 'SONY ' 'CD-RW CRX140E ' '1.0n' Removable
CD-ROM
        0,1,0 1) *
        0,2,0 2) *
        0,3,0 3) *
        0,4,0 4) *
        0,5,0 5) *
        0,6,0 6) *
        0,7,0 7) *

so all looks good,

i try to mount the drive and i get no media found errors.

try to burn and get the following error:
