The 'dev' directory doesnt contain any information about your network card.
The network card or cards information is in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
There should be a file called "ifcfg-eth0". it should contain information
about your card. My ifcfg-eth0 file for example looks like this:-
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
ONBOOT=yes

My 'dev' directory does not contain any 'eth' devices. The system can
identify my NIC but can't give it a device name and therefore can't get on
the network. Do I need to reinstall Mandrake?
