Sorry if this got sent twice - I'm assuming you're using a USR 5610 PCI modem? This modem will work fine with Linux, but unfortunately both LM7.1 and LM7.2 use version 4.27 of the serial driver which seems to have a bug that incapacitates the USR5610. You will need to upgrade to a newer version of the serial driver (I think I used 5.00????) and (unfortunately) recompile your kernel. I went through this exercise once with LM7.1 and am getting ready to do it again with LM7.2. For more detailed information see http://serial.sourceforge.net Also make sure you look at the discussions in the "help" forum at that site. Some of the earlier versions of the serial driver required you to manually configure the modem serial port with a "setserial" command, but I believe from 5.0 upwards it will automatically detect the 5610's serial port. good luck - Jon >Hello, I'm triying to configure a UsRobotics PCI Modem (not a >winmodem) >but I don't find how to doit.
