   During the install you were asked about booting to X, and if so, 
if you wanted to boot straight to the user desktop (see Mandrake 
User Guide, section 6.17. It's under Documentation | Mandrake Doc on 
the main menu.
   Now I think this is great for a single user system! If you wanna 
change it tho, easiest way I know is to put your CD back in and 
choose rescue (upgrade).  I don't remember if you need to choose 
expert.  When you get to package selection just unselect everything. 
When it gets to boot options you can then change to 'boot to loggin' 
as explained in the User Guide.  This whole process only takes a 
minute or two and is the easiest way I know of to fix/change things. 
   I'm a lazy sys admin ;)
