ok, as i get ready to order some 7.2 disk another question comes to mind.
i've decided to go ahead with a fresh install.
i have the following partitions

/
/home
/usr
/var
/swap

of course i do not format /home -- but i do tell the install program to mount /home on
that partition right? *duh*

i do format / and /usr correct? then reinstall everything that i put on that is not
part of mandrake (and the theory is my settings are contained on /home so will still
be there) right?

it can't hurt to format /swap

but what about /var? i don't have any email or anything there that i need to keep, so
i could format that also right? but if i do have things there in the future that i
need to keep then i can just tell the install program to mount /var on that partition
and it will all be groovy, yes?

thanks much
