Hi all:

I'm running the Linux Central Distro of Mandrake 7.2 on a K6II-450. Try as I
might, using sndconfig etc, I cannot get the internal(infernal?!) MIDI on the
SBLive to work. Finally got system sounds and external MIDI to work, but no
joy in Mudville as to internal MIDI. Midi/Karaoke(Japanese for "Tone-deaf
drunk with microphone") player shows external MIDI and four settings for
internal MIDI devices, but the only thing that worrks is external MIDI.
After many tries and much hair-pulling I finally got HardDrake to configure
the card and play the test wave, but sndconfig just reports that the device
is busy and tries to manually configure, then gives the same report.
Hellllp! Am I still just expecting more than the system is capable of at
this time? I would really like to ditch Windoze, and this MIDI thing is one
of the few stumbling blocks to doing so. Thanks in advance!!

John Payne
