Thanks Charles. Modem is definitely a "soft" modem - a Rockwell HCF Data Fax
RTAD PCI. I haven't been able to find a driver module for it, so it looks as
if my only course of action is to buy a new one :( . If that is so, could
you give me some advice on what to look for and what to avoid?
Modem is set to the same port as in windows - COM4
I configured kppp to the same settings as windows following the User Guide.
I'm not certain I got it 100% right though - could I come back to you later
on this if necessary?
