Steve,
have you trid setting up your dialup using kppp yet? I've tried a few
times in the past to setup and use gnome's ppp dialup without success. I
get the same problem that you're having. not sure what the trouble is
since this interface worked real good in RedHat, but doesn't seemt to work
in Mandrake.
Kppp works great though. give it a shot.
