Pricewatch has 'em startin at $169. Mwave.com, one of the better
online sources is $172. BUT, the reason I answered is I just read
yesterday that Voodoo 3 or 5's won't work/aren't compatible (V4's
are/will) with mobo's that support Pentium 4 cpu's. It's mandatory,
specially in this age of i8<whatever> and VIA/AMD chipset boards,
<whatever>ram to thoro'ly investigate (read, move slowly) the latest
and greatest hardware, specially video and sound (JMNSHO). Seems
there's problems even with low $$ hardware like the SB Live on the
newer motherboards (and some older ones).
Also, I feel a need to point out since my recent criticisms of
Nvidia an ATI video cards for use with Linux.... they both get much
better reviews than the V4's and V5's in Windoze, and I suspect
performance with Linux would be similarly affected.
