Hi Paul,

I did manage to get the problem fixed. I installed an earlier version of
Sendmail. The one that comes with Mandrake 7.1. And everything worked
great right out-a the box. The only thing I can come up with is there's
something about the version that came with Mdk 7.2 wasn't quite right. I'm
still in the dark as to what it is but I'm going to be digging around at
it.

I notice that if your From: header address is defined differently in the
"custom-header" information in Pine's preferences then the what the
machine has then that user must be listed with Sendmail as a "trusted
user". However, even after taking care of this and restarting Sendmail it
didn't work.

I'm too am curious to know where that version of Sendmail was writting
that "transcript" to so that a fella could change the necessary
permissions to what they should be. I can't help bit wonder though if
maybe the Sendmail binary didn't have the correct permissions set to it. I
thought of that while I was in the process of uninstalling Sendmail 8.11
and installing Sendmail 8.10.
