this was covered in depth a while back. unless things have changed recently, you
can't do it.
however ---
there are many AIM like programs on your linux box already
also, there are some attempts out there to make AOL work under linux, but i have not
been keeping up with them. do an internet search on "aol linux" and such. maybe
things have advanced since we last discussed this on the list.
