Marcia:
It sounds like a problem I have had with Star Office. I have found that Star
Office must sometimes be set to Postscript Type 1, or it will not print. The
default in Star Office is Postscript Type 2. Of course, this assumes that
you are using the Generic Printer Queue.
Change the Star Office "Printer Properties/Device" setting to Postscript 2.
