Go to SPA
delete the printer
create a new GENERIC printer
hit the connect button and connect it to lpr -P yourprintername (as seen from
the xpp panel)
close everything.
It lacks the features of connecting to xpp but it should print.
Also....
in a terminal
rpm -q printpro
If you get any lines of output from that, then log in as root and
rpm -e `rpm -qa | grep -i ^printpro`
Note the backwards quotes in that line.
Once you have done that, cups will not work and must be reinstalled, but it
had a conflict before which was the probable cause of your quandary.
