Please forgive the simplicity but I think its relevant.
I purchased Mandrake 7.2 just before Christmas. I have been struggling to
get the internet/networking on my new Linux box but did not give up in
frustration. After many uninstall - wipe disk - reinstall to try and get a
"clean" system I finally did something that turned the corner. I reset the
parameters on my firewall (ZoneAlarm Pro) back to their defaults. Wonder of
wonders the internet came up immediately and all is well so far.
Please take this away from my trials: it is usually the easy and overlooked
things that hold the answer.
