[newbie] fs fs=iso9660 not supported by kernel

I'm getting that error when I try to 
mount /mnt/cdrom
same for the floppy.  (MD 7.2) The same error occurs during the graphical boot
process.

In 'filesystems' the list of devices is correct. Any other file I can check?
