Please can someone suggest a remedy. I am getting this message at every
login:

slocate: this is not a valid slocate database: /var/lib/slocate/slocate.db

The file, slocate.db, looks like 1450 lines of Windows *.dll filenames
separated by characters I am not familiar with.

and
[Root@localhost /] $ locate DB2 (this command gives the following 8 lines)
