[newbie] Can't get a dhcp lease

I'm a Linux newbie.  I just installed Mandrake and chose DHCP since I have
an internal DHCP server.  My windows WS gets a lease fine, however my linux
box never gets and address.  I can't get out on the net.  Can someone steer
me in the right direction or provide me with a location to a good How-To?
