having only used Mandrake i can not make valid comparisons, but i will say this -- the
install is easy easy easy. in 7.0 & 7.2 it found all my hardware & set it up correct
(SCSI, printer, CD burner, sound card). in 7.1 it didn't set up the printer for so
odd reason.

when i got the CDs and decided to try Linux i was expecting to spend hours or days
configuring a kernel and stuff like that. i was shocked when i ***read the
instructions*** and saw just how easy it would be. even more shocked when ***the
instructions i read*** turned out to be exactly what happened -- as opposed to those
packages where the manual was written 2 years before the software and oopps.... there
might be a few changes.

also, MDK comes with a ton of apps. i am hooked for life. it's like crack.
