Open up a terminal window
enter 'su root'
enter your password to root
enter 'sndconfig'
This will open a dialog box and ask a few questions, I don't remember the
exact syntax of them, but one said there was already an entry created and if
I really wanted to do this. I said 'yes' and it configured the correct card,
asked if I wanted to test it, I did, it played a .wav and .midi asking if
they worked, I said yes, it saved the configuration and all has been fine
since.
