Hi,

I'm new on Linux and I installed the Mandrake 7.2
version. At first I had some problems with X because
of my video card (Matrox G450 32MB) that is not
supported by Linux Mandrake. Specifically when I
started X from the text mode I got an "Out of Scan
Range Error" and the computer freezed. I solved this
problem using the mga driver provided by Matrox and
modifying the XF86Config-4 file.

It was all running ok since I received and install the
CD Mandrake 7.2 update. Then I started to have the
same problem as before("Out of Scan Range" error and
freezing), and I noticed that the file X86Config-4 was
modified. But worse of all, even modifying this file
as it was before the update installation still the
problem persists.

Please, any one has idea what was in that update? Some
other version of XFree86 ?
Some ideas ofhow to fix the problem?

Thank you very much, Aldo
