The problem with the boot prompt: "LI" is already well
known, I read it recently somewhere maybe in
mini-howto documentation, not so sure (check
/usr/doc).
I bed it lays on the partition table or root device
there, let see your /etc/lilo.conf, it tells more ..
Boot in with the lilo-boot-disk, the problem shouldn't
lay on the raid HD-controller.
I'm using the same Abit mobo, due to a mess writing of
lilo on the partition table, now window NT won't boots
any more, although after new install. I'd try to
delete the partition table first before I reinstall
again.
dd if=/dev/null of=/dev/hde bs=512 count=1
should do the same like dos: fdisk /mbr
Post ur experience with grub here if u successed, I
will try it later, I trust more on lilo currently.
