You do not need the proprietary Lexmark driver which does not fit well
in the CUPS printing system of Linux Mandrake 7.2.

Download and update your ghostscript and cups-drivers packages (at least
ghostscript: 5.50-56mdk, cups-driver: 1.0-14mdk) as described for an
older update on

   http://www.mandrakeforum.com/article.php3?sid=20001214090405

then restart the CUPS daemon with

   service cups restart

(or by clicking the two gears in the window of KUPS).

Now you can start KUPS ("kups &" at the prompt) or "printerdrake" and
add a new printer. In the list of manufacturers and models choose the
Lexmark Z52. In "printerdrake" there is an entry with "CUPS+GIMP-print",
in CUPS you must search for "LEXMARK Z52". When you have chosen it, you
can choose resolutions up to 1200x1200 dpi and you get an excellent
image quality. The printer works with both parallel and USB with this
driver.

Happy printing,
