Hi all,

My xfs was hosed and I wanted to try ReiserFS, so I decided
to do a fresh install. Everything seems fine up to the point
of making a boot disk, including formatting two Reiser
logical partitions and a Linux swap partition. I tried the
following:

1) Primary FAT32 partition for C:
2) Primary Extended partition
   - Logical 5 GB Reiser for /
   - Logical 1 GB Reiser for /home
   - Logical 500 MB Linux Swap
   - Logical 20+ GB FAT32 for D:

and then I tried

1) Primary FAT32 partition for C:
2) Primary ReiserFS for /
3) Primary Linux Swap for sway
4) Primary extended partition
   - Logical 20+ GB FAT 32 for D:

but that made no difference, and here's exactly what
happens: when I try to make a boot disk, it says it
can't find mkbootdisk (or something like that). And
then when I try to install lilo or grub, it says

Fatal: open /dev/hda: no such file or directory

which sounds to me like it can't find anything that
it itself already installed (same with the absence of
mkbootdisk). I've tried installing several times, but
to no avail. During some of my attempts, it would
quit at the point where you choose a timezone. It
would say it couldn't find zoneinfo.

What should I do?

Thanks,
Miark
