hi, i am burdened with an on-board SiS also.
are you using XFree 4.0.1? if so, you might want to try going with the 3.x.x version
on the 7.2 CDs. i still have this vertical line on the left edge of my monitor with
is not suppose to be there. i had no problems at all with the 3.x.x version. i
understand that the 4.0.2 is suppose to be better with SiS, but when i tried to
upgrade it wouldn'd take. i am simply waiting the 8.0 and i'll worry aobut it then.

i assume you have tried changing you monitor settings (type of monitor and resolution)
to more conservative values & you still get this noise?

Hello Folks!
I've installed Mandrake 7.20 on a machine which has a Jetway 531CF
m/board. Although the installation appeared to work just fine, I'm
having problems with video. The m/board has SiS 620 on-board graphics
and no matter what I do with the video settings, I'm getting thin,
randomly spaced, broken vertical lines on screen. Ideas anyone?
