The NIC is configured.

What should I be looking for in /etc/x11/xf86config? I'm not really sure
what things to check? Is it going to be a font type or something like that?

--If you installed a different a card (brand or type) you will
have to reconfigure it. Using Xconfigurator is the easiest way I
suppose -otherwise edit /etc/X11/XF86Config manually.
