[newbie] a.out .. I couldn't run it

[JA GUESS]

I compiled my file and when I tried to run the a.out
file it tells me bash: a.out: command not found. When
I see the files that I've got I see the a.out there in
green color with an * after. Someone tell me how the
hell can I make it to run the programs that I'm
writing .. Ive got 7.2 version of this linux.
